Bulls are set to sign 2007 World Cup winning South Africa international Bismarck du Plessis according to report.

Rapport on Sunday reported that the South African franchise are in negotiations with the 37-year-old with the talks “progressing positively”.

Du Plessis started his career with provincial side Free State Cheetahs in 2003 and shifted to Sharks in 2005 and has gone on to make 131 Super Rugby appearances for them.

He joined Montpellier in 2015 before leaving them in June at the end of his contract returning back to South Africa.

The 6ft 2in hooker has featured in 79 Tests for the Springboks and was part of the three World Cup campaigns in 2007, 2011, and 2015 editions.

Having played under Jake White with South Africa and Montpellier, there is a possibility of the duo reuniting at at Loftus Versfeld ahead of the 2021/22 season.
