BUCS Round-Up: #unirugby Twitter edition

The Americans would describe University Rugby as a great product. At Talking Rugby Union, we have actively followed and reported on #unirugby.

We can attest to it being a great spectacle for players, coaches and fans. We vary the coverage using many forms of media, our photographic coverage and video coverage of the game. We get massive interaction when we cover the Leeds Varsity, the Manchester Varsity and the Bath Varsity.

The BUCS website enables us to broaden coverage with access to scores and fixtures but there is no doubt that Twitter provides a rich and varied source of content. This week we have used Twitter comments to give you a sense of what happened.

At the top end of the BUCS leagues the two front runners in Premier A North and South continue to drive forward. After this week’s games Loughborough sit on top of Prem A North with 28 points. In the South it is Exeter on top with 28 points.

Both had convincing wins in recent weeks with Loughborough beating Leeds University 31-14 on Wednesday 11th; and this week scoring 50 unanswered points versus the University of Nottingham.

A similar story in the South with Exeter winning away from home on the 11th versus Cardiff ( 3-45 ) and this week 72-0 win against USW.
