The Blues derailed Bristol by 20-33 four-try victory at the Ashton Gate stadium during the 2016-17 European Rugby Challenge Cup clash on Friday.

Outside-centre Reynold Lee-Lo (30), blindside-flanker Josh Turnbull (37), right-wing Alex Cuthbert (48) and left-wing Tom James (73) scored tries for the visitors.

Fly-half Gareth Anscombe managed to convert Lee-Lo and Cuthbert's try while missing out on Turnbull's conversion attempt. His replacement Garyn Smith failed to convert James' try.

Hooker Max Crumpton (15) and replacement blindside-flanker Joe Joyce (81) scored tries for the hosts.

Fly-half Adrian successfully converted Crumpton's try apart from scoring a couple of penalties. His replacement Jarvis Billy Searle converted Joyce's try on the concluding minute of the game as Bristol fell short of Cardiff's challenge by 13 points.

After the bonus-point win, the Blues will now host Pau at the BT Cardiff Arms Park, while Bristol will travel to Somerset to face Bath at the Recreation Ground next weekend.
