Ospreys 12 - 36 Wasps, Liberty Stadium
Brendan Macken scored a double as Wasps got their Anglo-Welsh campaign back on track with a 12-36 win over Ospreys at Liberty Stadium on Friday.
Both sides fielded youthful line-ups, and it was Wasps who forged ahead with back to back tries in the first 10 minutes that came through Antonio Harris and Macken. Guy Armitage followed the suit with a touchdown in the 17th minute and the visitors had a lead of 0-19 by the end of the first quarter.
Ospreys did show some respite with scrum-half Reuben Morgan-Williams crossing over in the 25th minute and their momentum was greatly aided by a sin-bin to Wasps prop Paul Doran Jones which Ifan Phillips capitalised and also went past the line to take the scoreline to 12-19 at half time.
As Ospreys failed to add any point in the second half, Nizaam Carr, who joined the English club on a short-term contract went past the line in the 43rd minute while Connor Eastgate slotted the extras and a penalty to make it 12-29.
Any chance of a comeback for the Welsh regional side was put off when Macken went past the post for the second time in the game in the 61st minute as Wasps completed a resounding 12-36 victory.
