Bath Rugby have confirmed that prop Beno Obano has signed a new three-deal contract with the English Premiership club.

Obano, who is a cousin of England international Maro Itoje was previously part of Wasps Academy before he joined Bath in 2014. His debut for the Recreation Ground outfit came a year later in the Anglo-Welsh Cup and he was part of the England training squad under Eddie Jones in December last year ahead of the 2018 Six Nations tournament.

He also enjoyed a loan spell with Coventry during the 2014/15 season of National League 1.

“I’ve really enjoyed my rugby this year. Undoubtedly we would have liked to have finished higher, but the Club is ambitious and I anticipate great things will follow. We will continue to work hard and hopefully, we will reap what we sow," said the 23-year-old to Bath's official website.

“I’ve got to give big credit to the coaches, S&C and physios for investing so much time in me, and hopefully I’ve gone some way to acknowledging that support.”

Bath managed to finish sixth in the ongoing season of Aviva Premiership with 11 apiece of wins and defeats.
