Bayonne have confirmed the signing of Samoa international Afa Amosa as an injury cover.

Amosa will join Bayonne from Bordeaux Begles after being part of them since 2018 and had represented La Rochelle, Colomiers and Bizkaia Gernika in the past. The 30-year-old played 38 times for Bordeaux Begles scoring eight tries in it.

He will now provide cover to Alexandre Manukula in Bayonne after the 24-year-old is sidelined with a shoulder injury.

“I’m very happy to have joined Bayonne. I will give 100 percent for my new team, I’m very motivated and I can’t wait to wear my new colours,” Amosa said in a statement released by the club.

Amosa has played four Tests for Samoa - all of it coming in 2019 and also featured in a solitary game in the World Cup that year.

Bayonne currently are at the 13th position in the Top14 table with six victories from 15 games.
