Bath have announced that winger Ruaridh McConnochie has signed a new one-year contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

Ruaridh McConnochie debuted for England Sevens during the 2015 Dubai Sevens, following his participation in the GB Student Sevens, where he clinched victory at the World University Sevens Championship. He notably secured a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics with Great Britain and reached the final of the Rugby World Cup representing England.

He made his Bath debut in 2018 and has scored 21 tries for the club that includes two this season.

"I owe a lot to this special club as it was the only one which gave me a shot coming from sevens in 2018," he told the club's official website.

"I still feel I can contribute here on and off the field as this group grows and be part of a squad that wins silverware for this city. Thanks to Johann for giving me this opportunity.”

Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan is delighted with McConnochie remaining with the club for another year.

“Ruaridh is a true professional, a club man, and always does his best for the team," he said.

"He is also an exceptional rugby player, specifically in the air, an extremely good communicator and a very good finisher. I am very glad that he is staying at Bath Rugby.”
