Bath ran an eight-try riot as they trounced Bristol by 22-57 in the European Challenge Cup encounter at Ashton Gate which puts them in the box seat for a home quarter-final.

Hooker Tom Dunn (5'), full-back Tom Homer (16'), centre Robbie Fruean (24'), scrum-half Kahn Fotuali'i (31') and George Ford (39') were the try scorers in the first half for Bath while the England fly-half converted all five tries and scored a penalty as well to take the visitors to 38 points in the first half.

Wing Tom Varndell scored the only try for Bristol in the 33rd minute while fly-half Billy Searle scored a penalty and a conversion to take them to 10 points at half-time.

The onslaught from Todd Blackadder's men continued in the second half as Fotuali'i (47'), Semesa Rokoduguni (58') and replacement Chris Cook (77') crossed over in the second half while Rhodri Williams and replacement Jack Tovey were the only try scorers for Bristol in the final 40 minutes.

Ford also had a fantastic outing scoring 20 points in the game. The 35-point win has taken Bath to top of Pool 4 with 18 points from five games while Bristol find themselves at third with 10 points.
