Wasps 50 - 28 Leicester Tigers, Ricoh Arena

Rob Miller and Josh Bassett scored doubles as Wasps ended their Anglo-Welsh Cup campaign on a high with a 50-28 win over Leicester Tigers at Ricoh Arena on Sunday.

Leicester Tigers headed into the game needing 13 tries to seal a semi-final spot but instead faced a rampant second-half performance from the home side.

Luke Hamilton started the proceedings for Leicester with a seventh minute try that was improved by George Worth but Wasps totally dominated the next 20 minutes with Marcus Watson (11'), Miller (15' and 24') and Marcus Garratt (27') scoring tries while Jacob Umaga slotted all the three conversions to make it 26-7.

As the half-time was approaching, Harry Simmons helped the visitors gather momentum with back to back tries in the 34th and 37th minutes that was separated by a sin-bin to Garratt as the first half ended with a 26-21 lead for Wasps.

With teams searching for openings in the second half Craig Hampson (45') provided Wasps with a breathing space with a touchdown as they increased the lead to 12 points while further tries from Umaga (61') and Bassett (70' and 77') helped them complete a 22 point victory.

As a result, Bath will face Northampton Saints while Exeter and Newcastle Falcons will lock horns with each other in the semi-finals.
