Antoine Dupont voted Rugby Union Writers’ Club’s Personality of the Year for 2021

France scrum-half Antoine Dupont was named the British Rugby Union Writers' Club’s Personality of the Year for 2021.

The 25-year-old overcame challenges from other contenders including Wales and British & Lions skipper Alun Wyn Jones, Daniel Leo, England fly-half Marcus Smith, Zoe Aldcroft and England Women head coach Simon Middleton.

Dupont, who already was named the World Rugby Player of the Year had an outstanding year with France and even went on to captain them during the autumn internationals guiding them to a win against New Zealand.

Dupont is expected to join France's training camp ahead of the upcoming Six Nations competition with a delay ahead of after being tested positive for Covid-19.

He was helped his club Toulouse to a double of Top 14 and Heineken Champions Cup titles in the 2020/21 season and was also named the European Player of the Year. He now succeeds the Exeter director of rugby, Rob Baxter, as holder of the Pat Marshall Memorial Award.
