Exeter Chiefs 62 - 25 Cardiff Blues

Exeter Chiefs scored five tries in each half as they went on to trounce Cardiff Blues by 62-25 in their Anglo-Welsh cup clash on Sunday.

Hooker Shaun Malton (5'), centre Michele Campagnaro (16'), lock Damian Welch (27) and flanker Sam Simmonds (38') were the try scorers in the first half while Exeter were also awarded with a penalty try as they raced to 31 points by half-time.

Even though, number eight James Sheekey scored the opening try and Jarrod Evans scored a penalty and a conversion in the first three minutes, Cardiff Blues were trailing by 21 points at half time.

Centre Tom Hendrickson scored the opening try in the second half for Exeter Chiefs but was soon negated by Cardiff Blues' wing James Beale. Replacement Stu Townsend rumbled across the post to take a 28-point lead for Exeter but a double try from Rhun Williams gave a glimmer of hope for the Blues bringing down the gap to 20 points by the 60th minute.

However, the dominance from Exeter was too much to handle for the Blues with Tom Johnson and replacements Jack Innard and Tom Lawday scored tries to complete a 37-point victory for the home team.
