Zebre have announced the signing of England flanker Matt Kvesic with immediate effect.

Kvesic will be the 21st player from Worcester Warriors to find a new club after they entered into administration last month.

Born in Germany, Kvesic made 63 appearances for Worcester during his first spell between 2009 and 2013 during which he became the youngest player to make debut in November 2009.

He made a return to the Warriors in 2020 after representing Gloucester and Exeter Chiefs in the past. The 30-year-old also went on to win the Premiership title with Exeter Chiefs in the 2019/20 season and has four England caps to his name.

“I am very happy and enthusiastic about embarking on this new adventure with Zebre.

"I have gained appreciable experience in the Premiership and I can’t wait to play, to make myself available to the club and to help the team grow and express themselves at their best on the pitch.”

Zebre sports director Franco Tonni welcomed Kvesic to the club.

"Matt brings with him ambition, personality and experience. Everything Zebre need.

"Johan Meyer's long stay in hospital and the desire to give Giovanni Licata the ideal time for a perfect recovery convinced us to reinforce the third line department."
