Who should start for the All Blacks against the Wallabies?

There have been some intense sports events this northern hemisphere summer, the football World Cup in Brazil, the Commonwealth Games in Scotland and currently the IRB Women's Rugby World Cup in France.

The more traditional rugby fan will be looking forward to some "real rugby". It was ex-England rugby international Brian Moore who tweeted yesterday to remind all us traditionalists that what was happening in France #WRWC2014 was worth a watch.

Those teams competing in France will have geared their rugby lives towards the World Cup and will have gone through a thorough and sometimes painful selection process.

Nowhere in the rugby world is selection followed more closely than New Zealand. As the Rugby Championship closes in on us, Scott Donaldson asks:

Who Should Start For The All Blacks vs Wallabies In the Rugby Championship?

The All Blacks begin their Rugby Championship title defence against Australia in just over a week, but who will be your All Blacks squad for this game?

Dan Carter's injury now means that Aaron Cruden will probably start with Beauden Barrett on the bench. The main talking point for me is if the All Blacks selectors should pick the best players for their team, even if it means playing the in-form Ben Smith on the wing rather than at fullback?

Israel Dagg is a solid fullback with a great defensive and kicking game, but Ben Smith is far more dangerous from fullback, but that would mean ditching Israel Dagg and going for either Charles Piutau or Cory Jane on the right wing.

Most of the other positions pick themselves with bench spots the main talking points. Who will be the utility back and halfback reserves? Malakai Fekitoa, Cory Jane and Charles Piutau will battle for the utility back role, while TJ Perenara and Tawera Kerr-Barlow will battle for the backup halfback spot.

Will the All Blacks rely on Liam Messam covering openside and blindside flankers? Who will be the backup lock and who will start at loosehead prop with Tony Woodcock potentially going to be ruled out?Wyatt Crockett will probably start, while Ben Franks would come onto the bench if Woodcock is ruled out.
