Wasps centre Michael Le Bourgeois has signed a new undisclosed-length deal with the Gallagher Premiership club.

The 29-year-old joined the Ricoh Arena outfit ahead of the 2018/19 season and has made 24 appearances for the club since then.

“Moving to Wasps was a big step for me in my career to test myself at the top level and it’s a move that’s reaped the rewards," he told the official website of the club.

“I’ve been able to experience Premiership and European Rugby and now I want to continue to challenge myself on this stage.

“We’ve got a great bunch of lads and coaches at the Club and we’re all excited about the move to a new training facility, and hopefully we can push on as a group and start competing on all fronts.”

Prior to his association with Wasps, Le Bourgeois started his professional rugby career with Jerseys and made over 100 appearances for the club scoring close to 900 points apart from close to 100 appearances for Bedford Blues between 2013 and 2018.

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young is confident of Le Bourgeois' abilities and believes his experience of playing in the Championship will benefit the club.

“Booj has made the step up from the Championship and taken his opportunities with both hands.

“He’s given us plenty of go-forward in attack while he’s shown his strong capabilities in defence and we’re looking forward to seeing more of that quality over the coming seasons.”

Wasps are positioned 10th in the Gallagher Premiership table after a solitary win from five games while they are at third in Pool 3 of the Challenge Cup with one win from four matches.
