Wasps flanker Ben Morris has been handed a three-week suspension following his red-card incident during the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership encounter against Worcester Warriors at Ricoh Arena.

Morris was sent-off in the 59th minute during the game at Ricoh Arena for a dangerous tackle but despite his absence Lee Blackett's men went on to register a 23-19 win.

He faced an independent disciplinary hearing on Wednesday and accepted guilty to the charges. Morris was initially handed a six-week ban that was reduced by half taking into account his guilty plea, conduct during hearing, past disciplinary record and other mitigating factors.

Morris will now miss Wasps' final three games of the season against Northampton Saints, London Irish and Leicester Tigers.

Meanwhile, Gloucester lock Matias Alemanno is also banned for three games following a tip tackle during the 39-7 defeat to Bristol Bears and now he will miss the games against London Irish, Bath Rugby and Worcester Warriors.
