Wales have called up Scarlets prop Harri O'Connor in the Six Nations squad ahead of the third round clash against Ireland at Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

The decision follows after Bath prop Archie Griffin suffered a knee injury during their recently concluded fixture against England which they narrowly lost with a 14-16 margin while Leon Brown is recovering from a shoulder injury in the tournament opener against Scotland.

Meanwhile O'Connor was called up to the Wales squad during their 2022 tour of South Africa but did not feature in any of the games. He came off the bench though in the uncapped game against the Barbarians in November.

The 23-year-old made his professional rugby career with Scarlets in 2021 and had represented Wales Under 20 side in the past.

Wales are positioned fifth in the Six Nations table after losing their both the matches. Following their fixture against Ireland they will be hosting home games against France and Italy on 10th March and 16th March respectively.
