Melbourne Rebels registered their first win in the Super Rugby AU after they defeated Waratahs 29-10 at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Alex Newsome was the lone try-scorer for Waratahs while Will Harrison kicked a penalty and a conversion to take them to 10 points while Ryan Louwrens and Marika Koroibete scored tries for Rebels with Matt Toomua kicking five penalties and two conversions.
