Gloucester Rugby have announced that loosehead prop Val Rapava-Ruskin has penned a new contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

Born in Georgia and having represented their Under 19 side in the past, Rapava-Ruskin made his senior club debut with Worcester Warriors in 2014 before heading to the Cherry and Whites in 2017.

Since joining Gloucester, the 30-year-old went on to become an integral part of the club making 99 appearances for them. He was also named the Gallagher Premiership Player of the Round in Round 12.

“We’re delighted that Val has extended his time here at Kingsholm. He’s in a rich vein of form and has worked extremely hard off the field to put himself in that position," said Gloucester head coach George Skivington.

“Our set piece has been a real area of strength this season and Val plays a big part in that. His statistics show what he adds to the team; he likes to be physical, he likes to get involved in the game around the pitch, but also does the basics well.

“We’re sure that our supporters will be equally as delighted to see Val extending his stay at Kingsholm.”

Gloucester are at the fifth position in the Gallagher Premiership table with six wins from 13 matches.
