Ulster have confirmed that utility back Ethan McIlroy has sustained a facial fracture following their recent win over Munster at Kingspan Stadium.

McIlroy was replaced in the 13th minute during the weekend's encounter following a collision with his opposite number Shane Daly as he attempted to score.

The incident also saw Daly sin-binned as Ulster completed a 21-14 victory as they moved to the fourth place in the table.

"He was treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital Emergency Department and was discharged home on Friday evening," read a statement from the province.

"The Ulster Rugby medical team would like to thank their colleagues in the RVH for the excellent care and attention they afforded to Ethan, following his injury."

Iain Henderson and Stewart Moore also received treatments during the game but is expected to be fit for the upcoming clash against the Lions while Marty Moore is nearing a return after being out of action over 10 months.
