Connacht have announced that veteran fullback Tiernan O’Halloran has signed a one-year contract extension with the Irish province.

The 31-year-old has been a product of Connacht's youth set up and signed on a development contract for the 2011/12 season. His club debut though came at the age of 18 during the 2009/10 European Challenge Cup campaign and has racked up over 200 appearances for the club.

He was also one of the try-scorer in Connacht's Pro12 winning final against Leinster in 2016 and has played six times for Ireland that came in 2016 and 2017.

“Everyone knows what Connacht Rugby means to me so I’m really pleased to be able to enter my 14th season here,” he said.

“It’s been incredible to see the changes and the way the province has grown in that time, and I’m very fortunate to have played my part in that.

“I’m thankful to Connacht Rugby for giving me the opportunity to continue playing my rugby here and I’m excited by what we can achieve next season.”

Connacht are at 12th place in the United Rugby Championship table with eight wins from 17 games.
