Bath Rugby have confirmed that Springbok prop Thomas du Toit will leave the club at the end of the season to return to South Africa and rejoin the Sharks in Durban.

The 29-year-old’s contract with Bath expires next summer, and he has opted to head back to his homeland after two seasons in England.

Du Toit joined Bath in 2023 and quickly became a key figure in Johann van Graan’s squad, helping them to silverware in the Premiership and Europe.

During his spell in the West Country, he made over 50 appearances and established himself as one of the league’s standout front-row players.

He was also nominated for the Gallagher Prem Player of the Season and contributed significantly in attack, scoring more than 20 tries across his time with the club.

Du Toit began his professional career at the Sharks, making his debut in 2014 before becoming a regular in the Springbok setup.

Since winning his first Test cap against Wales in 2018, he has earned 30 appearances for South Africa and was part of the squad that lifted the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He also featured in the 2025 Rugby Championship.
