Ireland centre Stuart McCloskey has been shortlisted for the 2026 Six Nations Player of the Championship award after an impressive tournament in which he played every minute and made a major impact across attack and defence.

Stuart McCloskey Shortlisted For Six Nations Award

McCloskey is one of four nominees for the individual honour after helping Ireland secure the Triple Crown during this year’s championship. The 33-year-old was a consistent presence in midfield and was recognised for his influence in key moments across all five matches.

His tournament statistics underline that impact. McCloskey finished joint-top for try assists with six and turnovers won with eight, while also ranking first for dominant contacts with 18. He was also among the leading players for defenders beaten and post-contact metres, highlighting his all-round contribution.

Ireland Triple Crown Form Recognised

McCloskey’s performances came in a campaign where Ireland finished with the Triple Crown and stayed in title contention until the final day.

Three Other Players Also Nominated

McCloskey is joined on the shortlist by France wing Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Italy centre Tommaso Menoncello and Scotland wing Kyle Steyn. Bielle-Biarrey was the top try-scorer in the tournament with nine tries as France retained the title.

The winner will be decided by a public vote, which is scheduled to close on March 26.
