Scottish Rugby have confirmed the appointment of Sione Fukofuka as the new head coach of the Scotland Women’s national team.
The Australian coach succeeds Bryan Easson, who stepped down from the role following the conclusion of the recent Rugby World Cup.
Fukofuka was selected after what Scottish Rugby described as a global recruitment process. He is set to take up the role in January, subject to visa approval, and will relocate to Scotland, where he will be based in Edinburgh.
The former United States Women’s head coach said he was honoured to be given the opportunity and praised the direction of Scotland’s women’s programme.
He highlighted the alignment between the domestic pathway and the senior setup, as well as the growing professionalism driven by competitions such as the Celtic Challenge.
"An aligned domestic pathway and emphasis on the increasing professionalism of the senior programme through the Celtic Challenge and the senior Scotland Women team is exciting.
"I look forward to connecting with the talented players, quality staff and invested stakeholders across the program to drive a high-performance environment that develops the players to their potential and produces a style of rugby that can be successful."
Scotland Women’s immediate focus will include the 2026 Six Nations campaign which they will kick start with a clash against Wales at Principality Stadium on 11th April.
