The 32-year-old sustained the blow during the recently concluded Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final game against Toulouse where he was forced off the field in the fourth minute and was replaced by Tim Nanai-Williams.
His absence proved decisive for Clermont as they were knocked out of the tournament with a 12-21 defeat at Stade Marcel-Michelin.
Clermont are positioned fourth in the Top 14 table with 12 wins from 20 games and will face Brive next on 17th April at Parc des Sports Marcel Michelin.
