Italy full-back Ange Capuozzo will miss the remainder of the Six Nations tournament following a shoulder injury.

The 23-year-old sustained the injury during his side's defeat against Ireland but despite the setback continued to remain on the field.

Capuozzo was named in the initial 33-man squad of Italy for the games against Wales and Scotland but now has been sidelined following a medical assessment.

He has been released to his club Toulouse for further rehabiliation.

Meanwhile, Capuozzo started in all the three games of Italy and was named World Rugby's men's Breakthrough Player of the Year in 2022. Uncapped Toulouse scrum-half Martin Page-Relo has been called up to the squad.

Italy currently are at the fifth position in the Six Nations after losing all their three matches and will host Wales in the fourth round on 11th March following an away fixture against France on 18th March.
