Ireland fly-half Johnny Sexton will be missing the tour of South Africa in June after sustaining a shoulder injury.

Sexton suffered the injury while representing his club Leinster in the Pro12 final against Connacht and will require to undergo a surgery.

Ireland have suffered casualties due to injuries, even before the tour started with Luke Fitzgerald and Dave Kearney already ruled out while Rob Kearney pulled up a hamstring injury on Wednesday during training.

Craig Gilroy, Matt Healy, Ian Madigan and the uncapped Tiernan O'Halloran are named as replacements for the four injured players.

The Ireland summer tour of South Africa will contain three Tests which will be played on 11th, 18th and 25th June in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.
