Scotland international has extended his stay at Saracens after signing a one-year contract extension with the Gallagher Premiership club.
Maitland has been part of Saracens since 2016 and has since gone on to become an integral part of the club crossing 100 appearances for them scoring 42 times.
During his time with the Sarries, the 33-year-old enjoyed two Premiership titles, two Champions Cups and the Championship while scoring in both the Premiership and European Cup Finals in the 2018/19 campaign in which Mark McCall's men completed a double.
“Saracens is a club that is very close to my heart and I am very excited to be here for another year.
We have a special group here who I love being around and I truly believe we are on course to achieve our goals which is a huge motivation for all of us.”
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is delighted with Maitland remaining with the club for another season.
“Sean is hugely respected by everyone at the training ground, is playing as well as ever and has been a key member of our group during his time at the club.
We are delighted he has extended his stay at the club.”
