Saracens have announced the signing of Alex Jeffries on short-term loan from Scarlets.

The 26-year-old started his professional rugby career with Newport RFC in 2012 and also featured for Bedwas, Cross Keys, Dragons and Ospreys before joining Scarlets in 2019.

Jeffries also featured for Wales at the Under 18 and Under 20 levels.

He will now provide cover in the front-row following injuries to Marco Riccioni and Alec Clarey.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the club, It’s a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get started!," he told the club's official website.

Saracens are positioned second in the Gallagher Premiership table with nine wins from 14 games and will face Harlequins in the 16th round at StoneX Stadium on Sunday.
