Sale Sharks have announced that scrum-half Nye Thomas has signed a new two-year contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

Nye started his career with Sefton RUFC and made his Sale Sharks debut in the 2021/22 season against Northampton Saints at the Salford Stadium. In the process, he also became the youngest Sale Sharks scrumhalf in the league’s history.

The 21-year-old has overall made 25 appearances for the club including 15 games this season.

“I feel I’ve already developed massively both on and off the pitch here, so being able to continue doing so at my local club is massive," he told the club's official website.

“It’s an exciting time to be at the club especially for a scrum half.”

Sale Sharks are positioned eighth in the Gallagher Premiership table with eight wins from 14 matches.
