Saracens have confirmed that Wales international loosehead prop Rhys Carré has signed a new contract to remain with the club in North London.

Rhys Carré Saracens Contract Extension

Carré rejoined Saracens ahead of the 2024/25 season, marking his second spell with the PREM side after previously representing the club during the 2019/20 campaign.

Since returning, the Welsh front-row forward has featured in the Gallagher PREM and strengthened the team’s options at loosehead.

The new agreement ensures the experienced prop will continue his role within the Saracens squad as the club plans for upcoming domestic and European campaigns.

Rhys Carré Career Path And Club Experience

Carré began his professional career with Cardiff Blues, progressing through the region’s academy system before making his senior debut in 2016. After his first stint with Saracens in 2019/20, he returned to Cardiff where he made more than 80 appearances and scored 85 points across four seasons.

At international level, Carré has represented Wales since 2019 and has earned more than 20 caps. He was also part of the Wales squad during the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

“I’m thrilled to be staying at the club and I can’t want to see what the future has in store for us," he told the club's official website.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is excited about Carre's decision to remain with the club.

“Rhys has had an inspiring resurgence in the last few years and we are all proud of the progress he has made and the hard work he has put in to achieve it. We are thrilled he will be staying at the club.”
