The November 2, 2024, round of the Premiership Rugby Cup showcased a variety of playing styles and team strategies, with both dominant performances and hard-fought battles.

Ampthill vs Bath Rugby

Bath Rugby showcased sheer dominance at Dillingham Park with an overwhelming 73–0 victory over Ampthill. From the outset, Bath's forwards took control, establishing a strong platform that allowed their backline to exploit Ampthill's defensive gaps. Bath’s precise passing, fast-paced attack, and disciplined play were on full display as they racked up try after try. Ampthill struggled to mount any resistance, often finding themselves on the back foot and unable to keep up with Bath's relentless pace. This one-sided encounter highlighted Bath’s ambitions in the tournament, as they demonstrated a well-rounded game plan and clinical finishing.

Caldy vs Newcastle Falcons

In a spirited contest at Paton Field, Newcastle Falcons emerged with a 33–12 win over Caldy. Newcastle's disciplined approach and cohesive play helped them to control the tempo, building a substantial lead early on. Their strategic kicking and solid lineout work created multiple scoring opportunities, with their forwards driving hard to gain territory. Despite Caldy’s spirited effort and managing to cross the try line twice, Newcastle’s structured defense held firm, denying Caldy any chance of a comeback. The Falcons' well-organized play across all phases ensured they maintained their advantage and walked away with a comfortable victory, showcasing their potential in the competition.

London Scottish vs Harlequins

At the Athletic Ground, Harlequins managed a 35–22 victory against London Scottish in a game that saw moments of back-and-forth action. Harlequins came out strong with a dynamic attacking approach, building an early lead that put pressure on London Scottish. Their balanced mix of expansive play and tight defense allowed them to stay in control, though London Scottish fought back valiantly. London Scottish displayed resilience, narrowing the gap with some impressive individual efforts and counter-attacks, but Harlequins’ consistency and ability to convert opportunities into points helped them keep their lead intact. This performance from Harlequins highlighted their attacking prowess and their capability to hold off determined opponents.

Hartpury University vs Gloucester Rugby

In one of the most closely contested matches of the day, Gloucester Rugby narrowly defeated Hartpury University 31–26 at the Hartpury University Stadium. Both teams went head-to-head in a high-intensity game where offensive plays took center stage. Hartpury displayed great skill and ambition, staying close on the scoreboard and challenging Gloucester at every turn. However, Gloucester’s experience and composure in critical moments gave them the edge, especially in the final minutes. Their well-executed set pieces and ability to capitalize on Hartpury’s defensive lapses proved decisive in this tightly fought contest. This narrow win showcased Gloucester’s resilience and tactical maturity as they held on to their slim lead.

Ealing Trailfinders vs Saracens

In an impressive display at Trailfinders Sports Ground, Ealing Trailfinders secured a well-earned 29–19 victory over Saracens. Ealing played with cohesion and confidence, using their set pieces effectively to control the game. Their forwards and backs combined well, with the pack dominating the breakdown and creating space for the backs to exploit Saracens' defensive lines. Saracens, although strong in phases, found it challenging to match Ealing’s pace and organization. Despite a strong push from Saracens in the second half, Ealing’s consistent performance and ability to convert chances into points solidified their lead and ultimately secured the win. This result positions Ealing as a formidable team in the competition, demonstrating their strength and tactical awareness.
