Parra to miss rest of Six Nations

France scrum-half Morgan Parra will miss the rest of the RBS 6 Nations after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage during the first half of Saturday's defeat to Wales in Paris.

Parra's club side Clermont-Auvergne have announced that the 26-year-old is set to be sidelined for around 10 weeks with the injury, although he will not need to undergo an operation.

A statement on www.asm-rugby.com read: "The Clermont scrum-half, injured during the first half of the match between France and Wales, suffered a ruptured posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

"His injury does not require surgery but immobilisation of four weeks with a period of absence estimated at about 10 weeks."

Parra returned after half-time against Wales with strapping on his injured right knee but was replaced by Sebastien Tillous-Borde in the 53rd minute of the 20-13 loss at the Stade de France.

As well as sitting out France's final two Six Nations matches against Italy and England, Parra will also miss Clermont's European Champions Cup quarter-final against Northampton on April 4.
