Northampton Saints centre Rob Horne has been suspended for one-week following his red card incident during the recently concluded Aviva Premiership clash against Worcester Warriors last weekend.

The Wallabies international was yellow carded in the 28th minute for performing a high tackle on Worcester's Chris Pennell and was later red carded in the added minute following a spear tackle on Jono Lance.

The Rugby Football Union confirmed in a statement on Tuesday evening, Horne, who had not challenged either yellow card, would be handed the standard sanction of a one-week suspension.

As a result, Horne will miss the upcoming Aviva Premiership clash for the Saints against Sale Sharks.

Northampton Saints are currently positioned eighth in the table with four each of wins and defeats from the eight games.
