The Welsh Rugby Union has confirmed referee Nigel Owens will be officiating in the game between Wales and Barbarians scheduled to be played at Principality Stadium on 30th November.

Owens, who is also from Wales will be officiating for the first time in a game involving his own country.

The news was confirmed by a statement released by the Welsh Rugby Union.

"A further unique move will see Welsh refereeing royalty Nigel Owens officiate a match involving his native country for the first time in his career – after receiving special dispensation from World Rugby."

Barbarians will be coached by Warren Gatland as he will step down from his Wales role at the end of the World Cup with Wayne Pivac replacing him.
