Australia scrum-half Nic White will miss the upcoming series against France following a knee injury.

The 31-year-old suffered a medial cruciate ligament during a training session at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast and now has been confirmed to miss all the three games of the series.

The absence of White means now Tate McDermott, Ryan Lonergan and Jake Gordon are now in contention to take the scrum-half position ahead of the first game that kicks-off in Sydney on 7th July.

McDermott has played two Tests for the Wallabies - all of it coming last year and also had a good outing in this year's Super Rugby campaign while Lonergan is yet to make his Test debut.

Gordon is recovering from a MCL injury and is expected to feature at some stage during the series.

Following the game in Sydney, both Australia and France will be playing their next two matches in Melbourne and Brisbane on 13th and 17th July respectively.
