Newport Gwent Dragons 32 - 28 Ospreys

One of the most exciting rugby games I have watched in a while, Dragons had momentum, then Ospreys found their momentum and their way back into the game before Dragons manage to hold on for the win, producing a double over them for the first time ever.

The thirteen points the Dragon's missed in the first half were long forgotten in the first 20 minutes of the second half as Dragon's completely dominated, it looked like it was all over.

But just as they thought they had a comfortable lead Ospreys found their flair and went over twice for converted tries, were handed a penalty and suddenly found themselves right back in the game. It became clear very quickly that those thirteen points were actually vital for the Dragons.

First Half

An early penalty for the Ospreys is nicely struck over by Dan Biggar to give the visitors an early lead. Newport Gwent Dragons 0 - 3 Ospreys.

Newport Gwent Dragons then turnover the ball and make straight for the Ospreys try line with Ashley Smith going over with Tovey adding the extras. A great start for the Dragons. Newport Gwent Dragons 7 - 3 Ospreys.

It is not long before Ospreys get their first try of the game, thanks to Ryan Jones, a touch line kick from by James Hook goes wide. Newport Gwent Dragons 7 - 8 Ospreys.

Biggar's gets a second attempt at the posts but it goes wide. It is then the Dragon's time to go back into the lead after being handed a close-range penalty which is nicely slotted over by Jason Tovey. Newport Gwent Dragons 10 - 8 Ospreys.

Dragon's once again push towards the Ospreys try line, and despite being presented with several opportunities, they are handed a penalty which Tovey slots over. Newport Gwent Dragons 13 - 8 Ospreys.

Dragon's Aled Brew chased a loss ball towards the try line, but misjudged his running and the ball went into touch, a miss of the season and a basic error by a winger.

Ospreys have so far found themselves constantly defending their try line and Dragons are the more dominant team. Dragon's try to get past the defence in any way they can, as they are being driven my momentum.

Biggar makes Dragon's pay as he slots over  a three-pointer, the scoreboard doesn't show it but the haveplayed considerably worse than the Dragons. Newport Gwent Dragons 13 - 11 Ospreys.

Tovey then misses a chance to make ground for the Dragons, a team who should be at least ten points ahead. The final act of the first half saw another missed penalty by Tovey, his kicking has not been  on form throughout the first half.

Second Half

Biggar saves the day for Ospreys who are close to conceding a try in the opening minute of the second half. As the ball goes into try terriorty Biggar catches the ball and leaps into touch.

However is was not enough, a scrum close to the try line proved to powerful for Ospreys as they kept the ball in hand before Wayne Evans touches the try line, Matthew Jones adds the extras. Newport Gwent Dragons 20 - 11 Ospreys.

Dragons turn over an Ospreys ball after they make their first good run into the Dragons 22, the ball is shot down towards the Osprey's try line withTommy Bowe missing the ball as he tries to kicks it. Brew makes up for his first half mistake as he goes over to give Dragons a second try in the second half, a kick by Jones drifts wise. Newport Gwent Dragons 25 - 11 Ospreys.

As if one try wasn't enough, out of nothing Brew gets the ball and runs from the half way line to go over for a second try, Jones gets a shot on target this time as he adds the extras.   Newport Gwent Dragons 32 - 11 Ospreys.

The scoreline is now being to reflect the way the teams have played, Dragons found a tempo and kept it, whilst keeps Ospreys at bay.

Ospreys make a slight mark on the second half as Bowe makes up for his earlier defensive lapse as he goes over for an easy try, Hook adds the extras. Newport Gwent Dragons 32 - 18 Ospreys.

They have found some flair, a superb cross-kick finds Nikki Walker who goes over for another try just minutes after Bowe potentially turned the game around. A precise kick by Hook adds two more vital points and the visitors creep back into the game and find themselves just one score away. Newport Gwent Dragons 32 - 25 Ospreys.

Dragon's hand Ospreys a penalty which Hook strikes beautifully as the Ospreys edge ever closer with some new found momentum. Newport Gwent Dragons 32 - 28 Ospreys.

An exciting second half, and as the clock ticked down Dragons were desperate to hold on for a win, whilst Ospreys were pressing for a third try of the half to secure a win for themselves.

The clock turns red Ospreys are within ten metres of the try line, as the Dragons try and hold on they give away a penalty, and Ospreys go for a scrum.

Dragons manage to survive to produce a double over them for the first time ever.
