Newcastle Falcons have confirmed the signing of Connacht prop Conor Kenny on a two-year deal ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Kenny, a product of Connacht Academy, graduated to the senior squad ahead of the 2019/20 season and has made 11 appearances for the Irish provincial side since then. He also represented Ireland Under 20 side in the past.

The 24-year-old will link up with the Newcastle squad during their pre-season preparations.

“I’m really excited about coming over,” he told the club's official website.

“When I first spoke to Newcastle’s director of rugby Dean Richards a little while back I was very taken by where he wants the club to go, and it sounds like we have the same mind-set.

“I want to play for a guy like that at a club with those values, and it always felt like a good fit.”

Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards welcomed Kenny's addition to the squad.

“Conor is a very promising tight-head who will add to the competition we have in our front-row," he said.

“We look forward to his arrival, and I’m confident he can show up well at this level.”

Newcastle Falcons finished 10th in the 2020/21 Gallagher Premiership season after managing nine wins from 22 games.
