New Zealand 37-20 Australia, Yokohama
Scorecard

New Zealand extended their dominance over Australia in this year's Bledisloe Cup as they went on to win the encounter 37-20 in Yokohama on Saturday.

This is their third win over the Wallabies this year after already beating them twice in the Rugby Championship tournament.

Australia began the game positively but it was New Zealand who opened their account in the 12th minute when Liam Squire crossed over and Beauden Barrett kicked the conversion. The response from Australia came in the 22nd minute when Kurtley Beale kicked a penalty goal after Sonny Bill Williams was penalised for an offside.

Five minutes later Barrett with a three-pointer of his own to restore the seven point lead for Steve Hansen's men and skipper Kirean Read with his 36th minute try followed by Barrett's conversion stretched the lead to 14 points before Sefanaia Naivalu brought it down to seven points by half time with his 39th minute touchdown that was improved by Bernard Foley.

The second half saw Foley and Barrett trade penalties but the World Champions increased their lead with a combination of Read, TJ Perenara and Reiko Ioane sent the fly-half over the line.

As the final 15 minutes was approaching, the Wallabies suffered a major setback when Tolu Latu was sin-binned in the 67th minute for a dangerous tackle on Codie Taylor.

New Zealand made full use of the numerical advantage when Ben Smith intercepted a wayward Israel Folau pass before he strolled over the line. Folau made amends as he scored the second try for Australia that brought the gap down to 12 point before Ioane had other plans as he completed a charge from Richie Mo'unga to complete a 37-20 victory.
