Leinster winger Jimmy O'Brien becomes the latest player to miss the upcoming Six Nations tournament for Ireland due to a neck injury.

The news follows after Ireland have already lost the services of Connacht wing Mack Hansen for the tournament due to a dislocated shoulder.

A statement released by Leinster revealed that O'Brien 'will be unavailable for a number of months'.

Both Hansen and O'Brien were part of Ireland's matchday squad in the quarter-final defeat in the World Cup last year in France. Along with the duo, prop Dave Kilcoyne will also miss the Six Nations tournament due to a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, Leinster also confirmed that Martin Moloney has picked up a bicep injury and will be unavailable for a number of months while Alex Soroka picked up a foot injury in training.

Farrell names an extended squad next week for the training camp in Portugal and will be locking horns with France in Marseille in the Six Nations opener in February.
