Munster have announced the signing of Ireland fly-half Billy Burns from rivals Ulster ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Burns has been associated with Ulster since Ulster in 2018 and has racked up 107 appearances for the Irish province since then.

A former England Under 18 and Under 20 international, the 29-year-old made his Ireland debut in 2020 and has seven caps to his name.

He is now set to replace Joey Carbery at Munster with the latter set to make a move to French club Bordeaux next season.

Munster has already announced that prop John Ryan has agreed to a contract extension with the province, ensuring his presence for the upcoming season.

Ryan, who debuted in 2011, has accumulated 217 appearances for Munster and earned 24 caps for Ireland.

Additionally, Cian Hurley, in the second row, has inked a one-year contract extension with the team.

Munster are positioned sixth in the United Rugby Championship table with six wins from 11 matches.
