Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika has stated that he won't pursuit Jarryd Hayne, however, he is open for talks if the former National Football League (NFL) player comes knocking.

Hayne is the most sought after player on the open market after departing from the National Football League (NFL) to chase an Olympic dream with the Fiji sevens team.

However, his quest hit a speed-bump after being left out of the Fiji squad for the present weekend’s London Sevens.

The former rugby league Test star is also eligible to represent Australia. However, Cheika refuses to pursuit the player and instead wants the former NRL star to take a call all by himself on his future.

"It will be a choice for him as to whether he goes to play rugby league or whether he wants to play rugby union," Cheika said.

"If he made the choice that he wanted to play rugby union, then of course we'd be looking to talk to him.

"But, at the end of the day, these are the decisions that individuals make. I think the days of going out chasing are over because it's too hard to do."
