Gloucester Rugby 14-49 Leinster, Kingsholm Stadium

Leinster stormed into the round of 16 of the Heineken Champions Cup as they ran a seven-try riot to beat Gloucester 49-14 in the third round at Kingsholm Stadium.

This is third win for Leinster in as many games as they consolidated their top position in Pool A while Gloucester are at 8th position after losing two out of the three matches.

It took Leinster just four minutes to open the account as Jordan Lamour touched down after collecting an offload from Caelan Doris and Ross Byrne kicked the conversion to make it 0-7.

Gloucester were down to 14 players temporarily when Seb Atkinson was sin-binned in the 10th minute and shortly Michael Ala'alatoa dived under the posts after a simple tap and go. Byrne was once again spot on with the conversion as Leinster doubled their tally.

The 25th minute saw Leinster's Andrew Porter yellow carded for collapsing a maul that also resulted in a penalty try for the hosts but Leinster successfully overcame the setback with further tries from Jamie Osborne and Doris as they headed into the break with a 7-28 lead.

Leinster extended their momentum in the second half as well with Hugo Keenan dotting down after collecting a pass from Byrne, who also followed with the conversion to make it 7-35. With 15 minutes left in the game, Doris was sin-binned for illegally bringing down the maul that also resulted in a second penalty try for the home side.

The last 10 minutes saw Josh van der Flier and Ronan Kelleher scoring further tries as they completed a convincing 35-point victory.
