Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has recalled Edinburgh back-row Magnus Bradbury in the World Cup squad as an injury cover.

The decision follows after flanker Jamie Ritchie sustained a facial injury in the 46th minute during Scotland's 36-9 win over Georgia at BT Murrayfield Stadium on Friday.

A statement released by the Scottish Rugby Union revealed that Ritchie will be assessed at Spire Murrayfield Hospital to see the extent of the damage before a call on his participation in the World Cup will be taken.

Bradbury has played seven Tests for Scotland since his debut in 2016 and was last seen during the Six Nations tournament clash against England earlier this year.

Scotland will kick-start their World Cup campaign with a clash against Ireland in Yokohama on 22nd September.
