Wales head coach Wayne Pivac has named Louis Rees-Zammit at fullback for the upcoming autumn international fixture against Argentina to be played at Principality Stadium on Saturday.
Rees-Zammit has never started at fullback for Wales previously but with Rhys Priestland dropping to the bench, Gareth Andscombe starts at fly-half moving Rees-Zammit to 15 jersey.
“Last week we had Leigh Halfpenny unavailable at the last minute and we’d trained a certain way so we went with Gareth Anscombe at full back who’s done that before at this level,” Pivac said.
“We’re back to Gareth at 10 and we have Louis Rees-Zammit at full back.
"He’s trained there the entire week. He’s looked good in training and it’s something we’ve explored in the background, so it will be good information going forwards with the Six Nations around the corner and the Rugby World Cup."
Alex Cuthbert starts at right wing while Rio Dyer keeps his place at left wing while the front row sees a change with Dillon Lewis coming at the expense of Tomas Francis.
While Will Rowlands and Adam Beard have retained their places at locks the back row sees a change with skipper Justin Tipuric reverting to his openside flanker role and Dan Lydiate coming at blindside.
While Alun Wyn Jones is dropped out of the matchday squad, Rhodri Jones, Sam Wainwright, Ben Carter and Jac Morgan have joined the replacements.
