Italy have called up Harlequins wing Louis Lynagh to their Six Nations squad ahead of the third round clash against France.

The news follows after Lynagh announced his decision to make a switch from Harlequins to Benetton at the end of the ongoing season.

Son of former Australia captain Michael Lynagh, the 23-year-old was called up to the England squad under Eddie Jones in 2021 but did not feature in any games for them but had represented England Under 20 side in the past.

The squad also features Monty Ioane, who qualifies to play for Italy under residency rules but Sebastian Negri, Lorenzo Cannone, Pietro Ceccarelli and Edoardo Iachizzi are unavailable due to injuries.

Italy had a narrow defeat against England in the opening round but were blanked out by Ireland with a 0-36 margin in the second round as they are at the bottom of the table.

Stade Pierre-Mauroy will be hosting their next encounter against France on 25th February.
