London Irish have announced the signing of Italy international centre Luca Morisi ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Born in Milan, the 31-year-old started his early rugby with Grande Milano Rugby and Crociati RFC but has been involved with Benetton Rugby since 2012 after initially joining them on loan.

Morisi made his international debut for Italy in 2012 and has gone on to play for 32 times. He was part of their 2019 World Cup campaign where he featured in two matches.

“I am very thankful to have this opportunity presented to me as it has always been an aspiration to play in England," he told.

“I believe this is a brilliant move for myself and my family, and I can’t wait to prove myself to Declan and his staff.”

London Irish Director of Rugby Declan Kidney is thrilled with the inclusion of Morisi to the squad.

“Luca boasts a good amount of club and international experience, which can be a valuable asset to any squad,” said Kidney.

“We look forward to seeing his impact, both on and off the field.”
