Lions came up with a dominant second half performance as they went on to win the Super Rugby encounter against Sharks at Growthpoint Kings Park on Saturday.

Garth April kicked the proceedings for Sharks with a ninth minute penalty but Lions bounced back into the lead with a 20th minute try from Malcolm Marx.

A 36th minute touchdown from Jacobus Van Wyk was negated by efforts from Andries Coetzee as Lions went into half time with a 10-13 lead.

However, Sharks failed to gather any momentum in the second half in which they did not add any point. But, Elton Jantjies kicked three penalties while Jaco Kriel strolled past the post to complete a 17 point win for Lions.

Lions maintained their top position in Africa 2 Conference while Sharks finished second.
