Jason Leonard On The Bond Between Rugby And Cricket

Watch as 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Jason Leonard, now RFU Junior Vice-President, talks about the many similarities between cricket and rugby.

At an event held to celebrate England's Ashes victory over Australia during the cricketing summer, Leonard says that a lot of cricketers play rugby and vice versa.

He adds that both sports encourage fans to mix together, with none of the segregation you see in other sports before talking about the bond that he sees between rugby and cricket.

Finally, he says that both sports are lucky to have good people involved, both running and playing the game.

Leonard played 119 Tests during his career - 114 for England and five for the British & Irish Lions - and up unti this weekend, when Richie McCaw made his 120th appearance for New Zealand, he was the most capped forward in international rugby.

He remains the most capped front row forward in international rugby, however.
