Leicester Tigers 27 - 7 Exeter Chiefs, Welford Road

Leicester Tigers opened their account in the ongoing Premiership Rugby Cup as they sealed a 27-7 bonus point victory over Exeter Chiefs at Welford Road on Friday.

The Tigers now are positioned third in Pool 3 with five points while Exeter Chiefs are at second.

Guy Thompson started the proceedings with a second-minute try but five minutes later the home side suffered a setback with Noel Reid sin-binned.

Exeter capitalised on the advantage with a ninth-minute try from Jacques Vermeulen that was improved by Harvey Skinner making the scoreline 5-7.

Just as the first quarter was about to end Leicester Tigers stepped up the gears with Jordan Olowofela crashing over the line in the corner and 10 minutes later Jonah Holmes also crossed over as the teams went into the break with a 17-7 scoreline.

The home side were quick to get off the block in the second half with Reid kicking a 48th-minute penalty goal making the scoreline 20-7 and as the full-time was approaching Tom Hardwick and Kyle Eastmond combined with the latter touching down to complete a 27-7 victory for Leicester Tigers.
