Toulon have acquired the services of South Africa international JP Pietersen for the upcoming season on a two-year deal.
The former Sharks wing will move from Leicester Tigers, which he joined in 2016 and scored three tries in 15 games for the Aviva Premiership club.
Leicester Tigers chief executive Simon Cohen believes the exit of Pietersen will allow head coach Matt O'Connor to draft in additional players that will suit his vision.
"JP Pietersen's departure allows a sum within the salary cap for next year and the year after to sign players that fit his vision and match his playing philosophy," said Cohen.
Pietersen has made 137 appearances for his Super Rugby side Sharks scoring 195 points in it and has also represented Japanese club Panasonic Wild Knights before his move to the Tigers.
The 30-year-old has also won 70 caps with Springboks after making his debut in September 2006.
